I can not believe it is December already. I feel like it was just Halloween, and my birthday which was at the end of July. It is strange how much faster time seems to fly the older we become.
Well like it or not, winter is right around the corner, and we’re right in the midst of the holiday season. I’m not really into the whole “Christmas thing,” but I don’t want to sit around being a scrooge either. I’ve decided to make posts throughout the month to help stay festive, regardless of what holiday you celebrate or don’t celebrate.
This easy stove top potpourri recipe will have your home smelling warm and welcoming in a matter of minutes. Even when I don’t have guests, I’ll heat some up just to enjoy the seasonal fragrance
- 1/2 cup fresh cranberries
- 1 orange (sliced)
- 4 cinnamon sticks (broken in half)
- 1 TB cloves
- 1/8 tsp nutmeg
- 2-3 cups water
You can always play around with the recipe and add vanilla, lemon, bay leaves, rosemary, etc.
Combine ingredients in a small pot and simmer over low heat for as long as desired. Add more water if it gets low.
